Summer Workload – Distance Learning

1. The University of Toledo Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (UT-AAUP) and the University of Toledo Board of Trustees mutually agree to the following: for the term of the parties 2004 through 2007 agreement.

2. The parties agree to address distance learning workload for Summer Sessions during the term of this agreement as follows:

a.) courses taught in load during summer 2004 shall continue to be taught in load.

b.) courses taught out of load during summer 2004 shall continue to be taught out of load.

c.) for new courses, the faculty member, the Chair and Dean shall work together to decide whether the course will be taught in or out of load; in cases where there is disagreement, the Dean shall make the final determination.

d.) if a Chair or Dean has promised a faculty member that a distance–learning course would be taught in a manner different from the process outlined above, that agreement shall prevail.
